Today, our Larger Than Life children and youth are celebrating “International Baldness Day” in hospital wards, at home and in the Kindergarten of Dreams, our fully sterile early childhood educational and rehabilitation facility in Tel Aviv and Be’er Sheva.
Beautiful Shoval Levy, a participant in Larger Than Life’s “Gamani” program for youth battling cancer, says that she is not embarrassed for a moment. “I loved myself bald, it was a part of who I am and a part of my story, and I want to say the following to all the girls and boys who are now dealing with cancer and baldness. Although you have to get used to looks and whispers, even though you look different on the outside, you are the most beautiful children in the world! You are strong, and everything is part of your process. Love yourself, believe in yourself, stay optimistic, and remember – If anyone does not love you when you are bald, it’s simply their problem!!”
